First-of-its-kind online meeting between the Polish philanthropic sector and TGE

Polish non-profits and the TGE team were gathered during the first cross-border philanthropy webinar organised in Poland, thanks to our partner Academy for the Development of Philanthropy in Poland.

Publication date: 12 Mar 2021

The new Polish TGE partner, Academy for the Development of Philanthropy in Poland (ADPP), organized an online event last week, on March the 4th. The purpose was to present TGE and its activities to Polish beneficiaries. Over 60 representatives of non-profit organisations from across Poland participated to the event.

Four speakers intervened during the webinar:

Kaya Petryka from ADPP, as mediator of the event and Q&A session.

Ludwig Forrest, Head of International Philanthropy at King Baudouin Foundation and Network Coordinator of Transnational Giving Europe, as first speaker. He presented the current state of cross-border philanthropy in Europe, the progress made in 2020 and remaining impediments to transnational giving. Mr. Forrest also recalled the origins and general role of TGE across Europe.

Anne-Laure Paquot, Network Manager of Transnational Giving Europe, as second speaker. She gave a more practical explanation: the step-by-step procedure of joining TGE, the tools our Network offers to European non-profits and how to collect cross-border donations as a European charity.

Chryssa Panoussiadou, representative of Lesvos Solidarity, a Greek TGE beneficiary, as last speaker. She presented effective ways of raising funds across Europe and where to fit transnational giving within a fundraising strategy.
