International philanthropy boomed in Spain in 2020

Presentation of the main protagonists of international philanthropy to and from Spain in 2020.

Publication date: 22 Jan 2021

In Spain, international philanthropy increased significantly during 2020. In November, donations collected had already grown by more than 65% compared to 2019.

The main recipients of these acts of generosity were the World Health Organization’s (WHO) COVID programs, scholarships financed by Business School alumni and organisations working in the environmental sector.

Education is usually the sector who receives the most support, but the pandemic-related projects made health the leading sector of 2020. More specifically, the main recipients of Spanish donations in the first eleven months of 2020 were these three TGE beneficiaries: Covid-19 Solidarity Response Fund, INSEAD and WeForest.
